I'm gonna move to Hollywood and make a version of Saw where the torture chamber is full of libs and the puppet keeps lecturing them on how much worse the torture could be so they need to just put up with the torture they're getting.
They get to vote on the tortures they endure!
Would you like first a CBT torture device or spontaneous-discombobulation machine, applied to your head?
Our torture chamber's sponsors paid for these options, there is no other...
That’s just Saw lol. He basically says “you don’t appreciate life. Now climb through this pit of needles because the consequences it’s not as bad as your sin against life”
Well shoot, guess I should've watched it before writing my screenplay.
99% Hitler is the lesser of two Hitlers.
Yes he will be totally unaccountable to the voters in his second term.
Yes he will probably die a natural death before he could stand trial for whatever crimes he commits without accountability.
Yes his latest social media campaign involves calling himself Dark Brandon and showing red lasers coming out of his eyes.
Trust us bro. He's only 99% Hitler.
Genuinely it seems like Biden’s whole thing right now is “No I’m 100% Hitler! He’s saying he’s 100% Hitler but look at all the Hitlering I’m doing! I can be 100% Hitler just please vote for me not him”
Is anyone even saying that? I thought the whole issue was about withholding votes by votong undeclared in the upcoming primary to draw attention to the fact that Biden can't take this voting bloc for granted and should listen to their concerns. A significant group of voters using their collective leverage. Back in the day we would've called that effective democracy.
the voice of reason
There are In fact LOTS of progressives saying they won’t ever vote for Biden ever based on the current war in Palestine. It’s strange to me to give up on the every thing else in your life for the plight of the Palestinian people which is a very complex situation politically, economical, and militarily in that region. A lot of rights here in the US are on the line. Things can get infinitely worse.
aaaaaand we're back to fantasyland
a very complex situation politically, economical, and militarily in that region
Ta-Nehisi Coates on his visit to Israel and Palestine - "There's a word that come up all the time and it's 'complexity' and it's closely related adjective 'complicated'... I assumed it would be hard to descern right from wrong to understand the morality at play [and the conflict]. But perhaps the most shocking thing was that I immediately understood."
I recall watching a journalist ask some kids where they're from and they said Palestine, then they got visibly scared as a member of the IOF calls them over. He yelled at them and said there is no Palestine, that it's Israel. Back home you had to teach kids to be wary of cops, in occupied Palestine the children inevitably find out on their own.
Palestine is so complex that my pea brain just can't form a single opinion. This is a normal thing to say about a conflict with a 20:1 casualty ratio.
Thank God MSNBC and Fox News told me what to think, otherwise I'd have to like, read a book and look at a map or something.
Translation: "It's weird to me people take the humanity of Palestinians seriously, don't they know we have to keep the kayfabe of the two party system alive"
the plight of the Palestinian people which is a very complex situation politically, economical, and militarily
I’m gonna… I’m gonna… nuuuuuuance
It's a very complex situation therefore we shouldn't bother having an opinion on it or caring, eventhough your tax dollars are currently going to the funding of this complex situation.
It's weird you would think that if it were so complicated and nuanced that maybe there would be a variety of possible correct conclusions or solutions.
But of course when they say it's super complicated and nuanced they don't mean that there's any other acceptable answers than the ones that they arrived it, it just means that their solution might not make sense to you if you just analyze it with things like "historical context" and "ethics" but it's definitely still the ONLY correct answer, even if to you it just seems like they're enabling a genocide.
Things can get infinitely worse.
Liberals keep saying this and while that's true for suburban white Americans, I don't understand how the situation could get worse for Palestinians. What exactly do they think Trump will do that Biden and Israel haven't done already? Gaza is flattened. Is Trump going to commit double genocide?
Is Israel just playing around? I don't understand what kind of morbid imagination liberals have if the current situation for Palestinians could get worse.
Cool so my reasons for not voting for Biden are complex and nuanced so you can't criticize me for it.
Is anyone even saying that?
Yea there are a decent number of people saying that because of frustration.
It's a little reminiscent of Global Southerners who worship Russia (though to be fair, worshipping Russia is nowhere near as stupid as worshipping Trump, since they at least sort of have a common interest with you while Trump has none)
Voting for Trump will not improve a single thing for any Palestinian or Muslim person. If you want to just save the time and improve your life instead of voting, that's totally understandable, but if you're actively going out and voting for Trump you're just a reactionary (and a cuck)
It’s strange to me to give up on the every thing else in your life for the plight of the Palestinian people
Hell, as generally self-centered as I am, there're far more important things in the world than I. Often exponentially so.
very complex situation
There's a handful of good folks in those threads. Nice to see.
The reddit BlueMaga... Not so much
I honestly am starting to find it hard to care what these people think. At the end of the day, if they force Biden to run, they're going to lose. Full stop. No amount of shaming and no amount of excuse making can make up the margins he is likely to lose by at this point.
I'm seeing new and more insane levels of "Trump is the worst thing ever!" lib comments on a near daily basis now. I can't even imagine what they'll be saying once the election is very close. Maybe it will be stuff like "Look - Trump is worse than the so-called genocide and ethnic cleansing. Sorry but not sorry."
"Look, Biden may have started WWIII, but do you really want Trump to be in charge of our world war response?"
Put the lathe down.
fuck this is going to be the narrative going into election day, isn't it?
At that point you can ask the libs if Trump is as bad as they claim, then why hasn't he been arrested and disqualified
"If democracy is at stake, why isn't anyone acting like it?"
-42069 downvotes and no actual answer to the question
It feels like the stakes are way higher now, the US has two parties with their electable figures decaying from old age and probably less than five years away from death. There's an active genocide going on. There's a huge recession looming over Europe. The level of importance of this election has broken past "the most important of our lifetimes" and will soon be reaching "the most important in history, perhaps for all eternity".
It will be a fucking funny election cycle and I'm here for it.
It will be a fucking funny election cycle and I'm here for it.
At least we have that going for us.
will soon be reaching "the most important in history, perhaps for all eternity".
If I was a pathetic human being and all that mattered to me was stuff like karma at reddit - I'd be working hard every single day on the perfect uber-lib "the most important election in eternity" meme. Biden is the wise elder statesman (or a wizard?) and a great man yet a lot of the public ignores or even belittles him.
Despite their grossly, unjust attitude he is making a superhero-like effort to save them along with all of humanity by fighting the good fight against an horrible monster enemy (orange is ideal) in some beloved pop-culture universe like Star Wars, Star Trek, MCU, Game of Thrones, LOTR, etc.
Trump is worse than the so-called genocide and ethnic cleansing.
I feel like you'll see that now as the prevailing belief. It's not a genocide, it's a war and it's complicated with a history behind it (that isn't just more of what they're doing now).
They're already saying that. They refuse to call it a genocide, and say that trump will be worse for Gaza. Gaza won't be there by november partly because of their chosen leader, but that's Russian dismatzzyya or whatever thing they're calling it this week
Speaking of Gaza, Bernie Sanders has lately been getting his ass handed to him by...
Prepare yourself for this...
I'm ready to vote Juan Gringo for president.
"Everything you know is wrong / Black is white, up is down and short is long "
Beto is going to get voted off democrat Island just like Tlaib
Not saying she's actually good, but she's exceptionally good for a lib and would be an easy shoe in to replace Biden.
To that note, all they'd have to do is pick him up while he's sleeping and put him in an office building with the most basic mock-up of the White House and he'd never notice. He won't remember the shape of the oval office, just plaster up some generic out doors pictures for "windows", get some college theater kids to play staffers and joint chiefs. If he comments that something is off, just tell him there's some remodeling going on. Gradually transition him to the memory ward and just tell the nurses to tell him that they're his new aides and that he's solved whatever issue he asks about.
Oval office bus stop
Some nursing homes and hospitals have built fake, imitation bus stops for their residents who have dementia. Some of these bus stops are even fitted with old advertisements and timetables to give a sense of familiarity. The residents will sit at the bus stop waiting for a bus to take them to their imagined destination. After some time, a staff member comes to escort the clients back to the home.
Im sure the set of the "West Wing" is still around...
She's not awesome from a leftist perspective, but since she's been in office, a lot of better things happened in Michigan. I'm "happy" to have her at the helm for what it's worth (over anyone else who ran, obviously.)
I would like her to unfuck what Snyder did to local government and utilities, maybe
him too instead of making his legal problems dissapear. But she did codify abortion and queer rights, though I think it's largely Dana Nessel for that.If she doesn't distance herself from the reckoning coming for Genocide Joe she and dems will get screwed in the next election.
Dems better wake the fuck up to thier downballots and even midterms getting wrecked because of theirs and Bidens shit takes on supporting genocide.
lol why they do not care
I was going to say there nothing dems love more than fundraising off the fact they just lost a bunch of elections.
Plus when they win people expect them to do stuff which is not what they're about.
They let a bunch of Nazis run unopposed at the city and state level and then cry about "why are all the school boards and county clerks Nazis?!?!?!"
Every time. All the party has to do is stick ANYONE in there with a hundred dollar bill, and they would win school board elections, but they don't. They don't care about what's actually happening to people on the ground. They let the schools and city planning committees get all notified, then call us dumb because those same Nazis want to burn the school curriculum and replace it with the old testament
Voting uncommitted in the primary is so obviously the right choice whether you do the "harm reduction" vote for Biden, vote for an independent candidate or just leave it blank/ not show up for the presidential election. Embarrassing the Dems by having 100,000's of their own primary voters writing in uncommitted is exactly what groups like the DSA should be telling their registered dem members to do, even if they're outside of Michigan. It would be very significant if a large amount of people did this, probably the most effective leverage you could possibly apply on them through electoralism, I may just not know about it, but I don't know if a primary has ever been weaponized against an incumbent candidate like this before in the US.
It would actually be better if all of this was happening under Trump because then libs would be supporting the opposition to this genocide. All of the activism around immigration stopped the second Biden came into office. The kids are still in cages and now you're a bad person if you point it out
At least Trump will be honest about the atrocities they're committing instead of lying about aid trucks and calling Netenyahu bad words behind closed doors.
I think that's what Liberals are most afraid of: Trump won't dress this genocide up as anything but a genocide, and then Libs will have to pretend to care about genocide again, which is just exhausting for them.
Typical 99% Hitler supporter
He endorsed her when she ran and she returned the favor in 2020 when the DNC was shanking Bernie. Same as it ever was
I don't know why I clicked the link; I don't know what I expected. Any voice of reason just gets idiotic replies.
Their horizons are so small. 😞
how?
If the people withholding their votes are detrimental to reelection of Biden, the most logical thing to do would be compromising to appeal to them. Why the fuck are we expected to give up everything we believe in while they don’t even so much as apologize for wrongdoing?
It's Democratic politics, jack. I get everything I want or you get the hose again - and that's Trump.
Gee that Two Party System is really working out for us, isn't it? (Sample of thing you can say earnestly as a capitalist and sarcastically if you are anyone else.)

It's insane that this is how the "adults in the room" react to the mildest, most inconsequential form of protest that involves voting (the holy altar of liberal democracy according to those same "adults")
I take some solace in the fact that /r/politics users are a uniquely demented assortment of Langley provocateurs and reddit pmc clowns, and thus do not represent the average American
Last year I didn't have and I couldn't have even conceived that "Trump is worse than the genocide and ethnic cleansing caused by and being caused by Biden right now" on my 2024 Presidential Bingo Card but here we are.
This is a toddler pushing buttons on an unplugged controllers thinking they're controlling what's happening on the screen.
