This is just a me thing, but I'd rather a police officer use a rear naked choke, let them pass out for a second, and wake up in handcuffs than the punching, weapons, and... "struggles" they go through to restrain people. I recognize it's a real monkey's paw moment
bold of you to assume police officers are educated enough to perform a sleeper safely or even would if they could when they also have the option to just sloppily choke you to death over the course of several minutes while people watch and film
Oh absolutely. It's a monkey's paw. It's like if you went back in time and taught Chauvin how to do an RNC, thinking you've saved George Floyd, but then it happens anyway.
It's on a theoretical level I've seen plenty of situations where you get a bunch of cops piling on top of someone or beating them with batons as they try and get the hands behind the back. If you're dealing with an honest to God dangerous person you could save both you and them a lot of violence by giving them the old unplugging and plugging back in.
