I think it's dog shit that implies this is one of those both sides are as bad as each other situations. I have to wonder whether Gaza being depicted like a trash heap is because the author is representing the conditions imposed on it by Israeli siege/carpet bombing, or because he thinks Gazans just choose to live like that.
