Honestly I really need to know how they did this, like, is it an actual bug they crushed them added custom windows?? If so, how did they get it so smooth? Must be a metallic sculpture

Very few people are lucky enough to see a beetle in its dehydrated state; this makes it easier for shipping, and usually the dealer will 'unpack' the beetle.
If you somehow receive a dehydrated beetle, just add water and it should unfold into the shape people are more familiar with (fair warning: make sure you do it outside, it's a one time process)

That's what the Volkswagen Beetle looked like. It was very challenging to get in and out and you needed a bunch of chocks to secure it when parked.
