For the love of God, stop calling your AI a co-worker | TechCrunch

Generative AI comes in many forms. Increasingly, though, it’s marketed the same way: with human names and personas that make it feel less like code and more like a co-worker. A growing number of startups are anthropomorphizing AI to build trust fast — and soften its threat to human jobs. It’s dehumanizing, and it’s accelerating.
Never have I ever heard of anyone refer to AI as a "co-worker" and the moment I do, they are getting called out.
If you call them out they will say
“You could respond with humor or a thoughtful explanation depending on the situation. Here are a few approaches: Humorous: "Well, it never steals my lunch from the fridge, so it's the perfect colleague." Professional: "I consider AI a tool that supports my work, much like any other collaborative software. It enhances productivity, so in a way, it feels like a team member." Casual: "It helps me get things done efficiently, so I guess it's earned the title."
Choose a response that matches your style and the context of the conversation.”
With our ever looking at the output.
