Let's get rid of a feature that positively differentiated our product and load it up with AI slop instead. It's a guaranteed winning strategy! Nothing could possibly go wrong!

now I get why they split and we have Nothing phones as a result
- Nothing isn't that much better. Their latest Nothing 3A phones have a dedicated AI button and no alert slider

  what I heard was that 2 partners started OnePlus but one of them split and started the competing Nothing phone company
  
  Carl Pei and Pete Lau. They both co-founded OnePlus, Carl Pei later founded Nothing.
OnePlus fucking sucks anyway. I've had multiple and they are buggy as fuck. They do the same forced apps and shit that I loathe.
IMO the only real option is a phone straight from Google and then you can more easily put a custom ROM than really anything else.
- They peaked with the OnePlus 7 pro. Loved the pop up camera to provide a true full screen experience without pinhole or notches. Beautiful design.
  
  My OnePlus 7 is still in use. It constantly has issues. There's some sort of GPU driver issue because sometimes the screen will turn to static
  
  I loved my 7t, it was the best phone I'd ever had, especially when it was still on oxygen os 10. Every major os update it got since then felt like a downgrade though, unfortunately. Now I have an 8t, which is fine and I'll probably keep it until it dies, but I don't think I'm going to get another OnePlus. Any androids that have that old OnePlus feel? I remember I used to like Moto's too, are they any good nowadays?
