Amazon says displaying tariff cost 'not going to happen' after White House blowback

Amazon said Tuesday it considered displaying import charges on items sold via its site for ultra-discount items, but that the plan “was never approved and not going to happen.”
The White House lashed out at Amazon after a report said the company would “soon” begin displaying import charges alongside some items.
The move would have affected items sold on Haul, Amazon’s answer to Chinese discount retailer Temu, which offers apparel, home goods and other items priced at $20 or less.

Billionaires are fucking cowards.
- Parasites are rarely known for their backbone.

Oh man, This would have been awesome to Show the MAGAs how much their guys regime was costing them!
- That's exactly why they got blowback.
  They know that if their voters kept seeing big red numbers with "tariff" next to it every time they ordered something, they might realize that they're being screwed over.
- Why don't the MAGA people want to know this? Why is it wrong to show what the tariffs are?
  
  Because in the official narrative, China is paying the tariffs, out of the goodness of their hearts. Just like mexico paid for that yuge wall around your country

Why would they not though? It only makes sense to show ppl what the taxes are on a purchase
- They don’t want the MAGA morons to see how much their king is costing them.
- MAGA attacked the largest law firms first. Then the news. Then research and universities. Now Wikipedia. Google kissed the ring before he won. META is eager to toe his line, per leaked staff meetings. The White House press secretary routinely ignores reality in favor of cluster B personality disorder false reality.
  This is all about blocking true and correct information. There can be no opposition if everyone’s in doubt regarding truth and what is actually happening.
  So of course he is vehemently opposed to something like Amazon spelling out how tariffs really work.
  
  FYI, it's "tow the line" as in to be a tow boat pulling the line attached to the larger ship.
  Toeing the line might imply trying to resist while technically following the rules

They're still going to have to show the final price, itemized or not. Amazon is willing to risk losing buyers over price bumps than try to keep them with some transparency and piss off the idiot who started this mess.

I would consider stopping my Amazon boycott if they put the cost of tariffs on every item.
Until then (or until they support a sane government) no more Amazon for me, thanks.

Hey, boycott and create content and spread it online. They are way more scared of the public then the white house.
