reminds me of that german island town that went through the news last year for this tradition where masked men run through yhe streets and hit women using horns, and they tried to hide it from the greater public, because they knew exactly they would get shit for it

Yeah, women's rights are OK on paper here but then they're expected to show up for this (and be thankful and offer eggs, chlebíčky and alcohol in return)... At least they don't really get hurt. As for trans rights, this tradition is way older than trans visibility so instances of crossing gender norms are handled on an individual basis.

At least generally. Unfortunately, I don't remember who told me that, although it was a "back in the day" thing, but someone told me they used to put pillows under their skirts, otherwise they couldn't sit down the day after.
Might have been my grandmother, but I don't remember anymore.
And I've also seen some good point online about how kids can't really opt out when their parents allow in some drunk men to drench them in water and whip them. Again, may not be the usual, but yeah...
