  • NVRAM is kinda like battery tech - I'll believe it when I see it. There's half a dozen promising concepts to begin with, yet none has really scaled all too well. Except for what Optane used kinda, believe it was MRAM, but that still had poor latency compared to DRAM

    • To be fair Optane was an actual real-world (i.e. a commoner with money could purchase it) example of a product that offered a good middle ground between SSDs and DRAM using a novel technology. If money was not an issue, you would be better off running Optane than even the top SSD of the time.
