I'm not good at card games at all, and I didn't know what a straight or full house was before playing, but i kept at it and finally succeeded!

Congratulations! And with straights too, that's not an easy hand to build around consistently.
Straights and full houses seem to be my style
Then you are better than you think!
Congrats! I'm not great at games either, so it took me about a month too 😩 ol' Jim Balatro is a wiley fella
He's a persistent bugger though
Work on unlocking all the different jokers first, that makes the game so much easier. Try using flushes, that's what I usually default to.
Flush is a great early strat but once you can figure out strats with high cards you can make ridiculous scores
Awesome! Thank you for sharing. You'll be chasing the high of your first W all the way to gold stake on your favorite deck.
Continue playing into endless mode. You will continue to discover new cards encountered and still unlock new jokers if you meet their requirements. It also helps get you ease into higher stakes 😁
Focus on unlocking jokers! Someon already said this but some of the joker cards locked are game changing. The "get 30 of X suite cards" are a good starting place just fish for suite changing tarots and start with the checkered deck if you unlocked it already.
I did continue. I got to the next boss and lost. But i was amazed i even beat the small blind at all, so the entire thing was definitely way past my expectations. The game is stupid fun
