I'm not happy with Honor and I will not buy another one. So much bloat, crap that connects to chinese servers and can't be uninstalled or even disabled.
So the Chinese Samsung.
I really like Doogee phones, I just wish they didn't have such a silly name.
First time I've heard of this brand.
8GB RAM, 256GB storage, big screen for ~€250 where I live. The CPU looks very weak, but acceptable for €250 price.
The brand name doesn't work that well, although it sounds worse in English than in other languages IMO.
Those are rookie numbers, there's a Kickstarter project phone - Oukitel WP100 Titan: 33,000mAh
At some point I'd rather just carry a power bank when I go camping or something instead of carrying a huge phone daily
I've never tested this hypothesis, but I would guess that a big-ass battery would remain useful after years of wear while a normal battery would need to be almost constantly plugged in. It's one thing to plug in a power bank now and then, but if it effectively becomes a wired device that's too much of a pain.
I've bought a phone following this theory.
After 3 years, the USB port wore out and didn't charge anymore. And after 4, the phone got concerningly hot during wireless charging.
So yeah, the battery lasts longer, but phones aren't designed for a long life in general.
I don't know about all manufacturers but Sony and I think Samsung both allow you to limit max state of charge to 80%, I just hit 3 years on my device consistently using that feature, and haven't seen much degradation yet.
Aren't large phones somewhat popular hence the iphone plus sizes and whatnot?
Yeah a 75wh battery pack is plenty for a week of camping. And it saves carrying the weight daily.
