  • So to everyone calling me a troll: what is trolling about my behavior?

    I post news articles from major news orgs. Some of which happen to be pro-conservative. That's not what trolling is.

    I don't advocate violence. I don't advocate anything racist. I don't advocate anything radical. That's not what trolling is.

    I fucking post news articles. That you don't have to read.

    The conservative articles go to conservative communities. The socialist articles go to socialist communities. Most of my posts go to MY OWN COMMUNITIES! That's not what trolling is.

    Lemmy IS NOT a liberal-only online forum.

    You all being mad and calling me a "troll" just because you don't like articles about trump is hilarious to me. I have asked you all several times to just block the conservative communities I post in, and then you won't see any of them.

    Being mad just because I didn't vote for Harris is a ridiculous reason to call me a troll. I didn't vote for Trump either.

    Ya'll need to calm down and not take Lemmy so seriously! lol

    You are allowed to create your own liberal communities. I am allowed to create my own conservative communities.

    Even though I'm not conservative, I feel they have a right to partake in Lemmy.

      Yeah, I'm late to the party, but I'm probably just gonna block and move on. You seem like a walking ball of contradiction, and trying to figure out your actual views is probably what is pissing some folks off.

      I don't think you should be banned, but I don't need to interact with someone helping to spread pro-trump messaging.

        Why should someone's political views "piss someone folks off"? If there is no racism or bigotry or anything illegal involved, is shouldn't piss anyone off. You guys take Lemmy WAY too seriously. But of course, you are welcome to block.

          It would be the "I'm a socialist but nearly all my posts are pro-Trump" bit I think. The ball of contradictions.

          But also, supporting someone who is setting up new internment , uh deportation, no, concentration camps, among other actions that are kicking the legs out from under our nation and causing the deaths of innocents would be a decent reason to be pissed off about someone's political views.

          I'll probably wait until I can find the right quip to post. The point of it is along the lines of "all views deserve equal consideration only if you don't actually look at the content of some of those views." Because you seem to think you're just playing fair, when what you are actually doing is supporting the up and coming dictatorial fascist regime.

          And in reply to one of your other questions - all conservatives and republicans may not be fascist bigots, but it's also clearly not a problem for them that their elected representatives are. That's pretty much enough for me to know what I need to know about them.

            If you post an article by AP News or Reuters about someone who hates Luigi, does that mean you subscribe to that point of view?

            I also post news about earthquakes and ufo's and tornado's. Does that mean I support all of these things?

            I post news articles that I think are interesting.

            If I were a conservative, then why wouldn't I just say that?

            People are already annoyed by me. I already have calls to ban me. So admitting I am a conservative wouldn't change any of that.

            In other words, I have no reason to lie.

            And even if I were conservative, there is no law or rule against that. Trump won the election. Does that mean the US is full of nazis? No.

            There are already thousands of anti-trump articles on Lemmy. Me posting ones few that don't paint him in an unflattering light isn't going to end the world.

            Now having said all that, you are certainly welcome to disagree with me and block me. I have no issue with that. I am merely defending myself against false accusations.

            I also created and mod community for Socialist Workers Party--who I voted for in the election by the way. I also host a mastadon account for them and an x.com account for them. And I have had my views published in their paper. So by your argument that I post things that I must agree with, then that means I agree with Socialism. Correct?

    • Sure, if the instance the comms are on allows it, they have that right. Of course, looking at the member numbers, doesn't look like any of them are taking you up on the offer for a safe place. I've heard the term echo chamber before, but you don't even have enough people for that.

        And if there is a place for conservatives, and no one shows up, then win-win for you. Because Lemmy's can say "Hey we don't discriminate, there are places for conservatives!" And since no one goes there, then you don't have to worry about it.

        Shouldn't the tone of this thread be, "hahaha Universal Monk is nothing! Look, no one is listening to him! How pathetic!" instead of "He's dangerous, we gotta get rid of him. He's ruining Lemmy!"

            Lemmy is unintentionally Lemmy. It just is itself. Creating a "Conservative Land" like some Disney park, intentionally, and trying to "if I build it they will come" it into existence?

            That's just odd behavior. Anyone can do it if they like. And if they aren't offensive I daresay they won't be defederated. But the aliases bother me, and I think defederation may come because of that. Certainly using SatansMaggotyCumFart (man, I hate that that's now going to be a spelling suggestion).

              The parody account of me, copying my username was made several days ago. The SatansMaggotyCumFart parody was just made around the time of this fucking post. The dates are right there in the profiles.

              And the Satans parody uses the same exact wording in the profile as the parody of mine. AND the guy is STILL posting to my communities. I haven't banned him yet, because I don't care. But you fucking lying about this is suspicious as hell.

              Let me get this straight. So someone has created parody accounts of me. And that's fine with you. Someone created parody account of SatansMaggotyCumFart, and you automatically think I did it?

              This sounds super sus to me. Why would it be ok for someone to make parody accounts of me. But not anyone else. And if it is done for someone else, you blame me?

              Also, you never mentioned this in your first comments in this thread about me, nor the OP post.

              This sounds super suspicious to me. Not only that, but the dude modified the original graphics used from my profile. And used the wording that is opposite of everything in my profile.

              AND I pointed this out and did a screen cap. Yet YOU all of a sudden are saying, "Oh look! He copied SatansMaggotyCumFart name." Which I haven't done. And I have no reason to, because as you said, I have multiple alts of my own name.

              So why don't you throw all this down right here in this thread so everyone can see?

              I'd like the admin of these instances to look into this matter. You can call me an asshole troll all you want. But I haven't ever lied.

            Now as for sad and lonely, then again, I'd argue that there is nothing to fear by having me be here.

            Also for context, I'm retired early, I'm fit and healthy with a gf and a social life that is more active than I would prefer. There is nothing sad or lonely about my life.

            I like the idea of Lemmy. I like posting on Lemmy. And I think all points of view (as long as legal) should be allowed.

            I don't take any of this shit seriously though. lmao I even have a selfie on my slrpnk instance of my name in a workout community I started.

            The other people in this thread need to take shit less seriously though. lol
