Super Bowl halftime performer detained after unfurling Sudanese-Palestinian flag
A performer in Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show was detained on the field and could face charges after unfurling a combination Sudanese-Palestinian flag with “Sudan” and “Gaza” written on it.

He was a dancer hired for the event. He wasn't anywhere he wasn't supposed to be.
They didn’t charge him.
They mean they're looking at what laws the guy may have broken, not exclusively 1A. Probable cause gives cops a limited ability to arrest and ask questions later, and public nuisance laws absolutely are a thing.
It should be noted that stadium security initially held him, but the police did not detain him, and have not charged with him a crime because he did not commit one.

The First Amendment means the government can't restrict Free Speech. The Super Bowl is a private event held on private property.
