Bit of a wild swim in that wind. Very choppy waves hitting the beach at 45 degrees (usually they're parallel). Ended up 80m down the beach in a few mins from where my kit was. Certainly wasn't a south easterly as per BoM but nth. easterly.

They denied my raise. Apparently doing 45 hour weeks isn't enough. Go fuck yourselves. Give me insanely difficult clients and then tell me the relationship isn't great. Pretty much what I expected.

The relationships were damaged significantly from issues between respective leaderships. Very little could be done and none of them had anything but praise for me.

Ahh well, act your wage I guess.

Silver lining is you know exactly where you stand with them. When you move on, it won't be a shock.

What a bummer. Especially when this place had such promise when you first started. Sounds like you've exhausted every avenue and it's time to move on... Hope you manage to jump this sinking ship soon, seems like nothing but bad news all around.

- Too busy's a big I've for me. I don't understand people that tweet all the time, even just shooting out a tweet takes time.

I used to watch canning or gardening videos (ok and maybe a few self sufficiency videos) and started getting recommended religious preppers
Also gaming in general can be a pipeline.
It's just YouTube. I saw someone share a profile just for their kid to watch videos and there was just a Jordan Peterson video in the recommended.
I see the same thing at work. My work account only has videos related to work and it's trying to push conservative political shit on me

Met the new neighbour down here. Dude was born here but moved to the US as an equine vet. Now he's moved back. Turns out he went to the same school and grandparents lived next to mine. Small world. Seems decent so that's good. He'll apparently be back and forth and renting it out as a holiday place in between so might get a few partays to crash.

A very large and rich cult did a board coup and bought out the multinational my husband worked for, and who I was just starting a job for ( i was sacked ).
They replaced all the exec suite and put in unqualified but trusted friends, employees were only allowed to buy from a list of trusted vendors ( that's called racketeering ) . The execs weren't placed for business expertise, they were like mafia execs, only knowing how to scam.
company tanked, they did not care, they weren't there to keep a business running , they were there to spend the goodwill and take all the money they could asap

On a whim purchased Balatro last week.

I swear it's the most addictive game I've played in so long.

I’ve hit it on Switch as well. It’s so damn addictive at times it’s not funny.

Really? Hmm. I'm currently hooked on a game called Slime Legion and it's driving me nuts.
- I paid $15 for Balatro, and it's absolutely bonkers. Fairly simple but you end up facing some hard choices as the game goes on.
  It won indie game of the year for 2024 and makes complete sense.
I've got it on my phone and I get hooked a bit, but it hadn't gotten me the way it has for other people. It's good, I think I just haven't gotten as deep into it as I could

I was drinking matcha everyday for the past few years until I started getting the jitters. I have switched to hojicha and am still getting jittery. Last week, I had nothing at all and had anxiety at a moderate baseline, but not the constant chest tightness, tingling hands, heart racing and brain fog. So I guess it's just water and herbal tea for me for now. Hopefully any future ADHD meds don't make me feel like this.

I have this four hour literacy and numeracy test in about an hour, and I am fearing the literacy part. I often skip words when I read or what I'm reading doesn't actually go in because my brain refuses to absorb the information. Unless the information is exciting in some way.

Try reading the question backwards as well as forwards if the questions aren't too long. That way you're focusing on the words on the page instead of getting caught up in the flow of reading

First time eating meat in a week. It was interesting to see what life was like without it.

Probably a bit more tired, maybe some brain fog. Could get used to it after a while I think.

I don't know what it is but the chocolate on the back of chocolate coated Scotch Fingers is much better than it has any right to be. It almost had that Cadbury taste to it, there's something different about it than normal biscuit chocolate

Trying a shampoo from Aldi. It doesn’t have dimethicone (I get greasy hair) but it does have fragrance and polyquaternium which are asthma triggers. I used it just now and will see if the scent dissipates before bed. Weirdly it stings a little.

Edit: Oh. Apparently polyquaternium is a known irritant and releases formaldehyde. Back to the Loch with you Nessie.

Edit 2: That’s polyquaternium 15. Seems 10 and 7 are ‘safe’ but with the fragrance of the shampoo and the slight burn/itch of my scalp I’m not really sold.

Washed it out with Dove sensitive bar.

I finished watching Private Lives/Bohema. It was like watching 6 movies about the same people over the span of 2 decades.

It was just sad, or I should say I was saddened. I might be too old to watch this. Like being too old to read Russian novels, you need to be young and fresh and not worn down to be resilient enough to withstand the nihilism.

And I just don't understand life sometimes.

I have the last episode/short movies of Private Lives/Bohema to watch , a series about the Prague movie and radio industry during nazi occupation and then the soviets. Based on real people and events.

Really difficult show to watch, to see how events happened, history crept up, people made little decisions to try to survive or save others, some made big decisions.

Always in these shows and books I question myself, what would I have done, where is the line.

Will give a bit of a review when I know it better.
