"Democracy dies in darkness" turned out to be their guiding principle, just not in the way people thought.
“Democracy dies in darkness” turned out to be their guiding principle,
Can't be repeated enough.
Bezos is a fucking coward. What's the point of being a billionaire if you still have to kowtow to people?
He's not kowtowing.
He's investing.
Because rich and greedy people have no concept of when they've got enough.
Where has the post (As in media not WashingtonPost) gone, where back in the day, a president demanded a cartoonist be sacked for depicting him as a parrot, (Just parroting others) saying they cant portray him as an animal, and threatened the publishers,
in response most political cartoonist purposely drew him as an animal and publisher said, tldr, "Just try and fight us"?
Do I agree with every political cartoonist depictions, no.
Do I think they should be allowed to be as they are, the jesters of print, bringing jest to pressing thoughts or concerns?
yes
Everyone understands this, I think the problem is that now people just make angry posts like this and vent some steam and feel accomplished enough to where you'll never actually follow through with this criticism.
You're hitting the nail right on the head, tons of people understand and agree with you but what is being done? Not by others but by you and people like you?
Why would there ever be change? Of course the rich just do what they want, all they get back is a tiny scream into a void that doesn't matter, at all.
My feeling, and I've posted about before, is that the progressive wing doesn't have a leader that inspires people to take action. Bernie and AOC are pretty much the only two that have any national recognition but they are playing the game from inside. I truly believe that for the progressive side to actually make inroads and to have the power to hold the right-wing and corporate democrats accountable they need a very intelligent brash leader. Some one that can fire up the base and get people to want to do more than vent some steam online.
But until that person comes into reality, the progressives will just be a bunch of squawking angry individuals blowing steam off online and being continually ignored by the rest of the political spectrum and the national media.
Cowards. Even just the rough scketch of the piece is powerful.
I'm 50/50 on leaving in protest or staying and fighting. Im also not in the same situation, so my hats off to Telnaes.
Bezos is such a little bitch.
Who are the top and bottom oligarchs on the comic? I can recognise bezos and zuckerberg but not the other 2.
