We're living in Feudalism now.
Trump is the king, the rest of the government is his council (whom he ignores), and the billionaires are the Feudal lords who wield the real power, as long as they stay in the king's good graces.
What do you mean with now? It's been like this since Nixon and made far worse by Reagan Bush and Clinton. That's why the dems we're freaking out about trump! They *couldn't care less about racism or abortion, their main concern is the fact that the cheeto says the quiet part loud all the time and may shatter the illusion of the american dream. America has been a kleptocracy for decades now.
We're still following the exponential curve of capitalism that leads to wealth disparity and corporate feudalism. Obviously not more of the same. No one is claiming we stopped at our current position, we are still driving down the road. That isn't changing today or tomorrow. The best we can hope for right now is people wanting socialism. That's all we can hope for.
Yup, they just stopped pretending. For years they thought they had to keep up a friendly facade for us peasants, but Trump showed them that it's no longer needed.
The amount of poor people having to juggle two and three jobs just make ends meet is something that should not happen in "the richest country on earth". Sadly, for a country with so much poverty and guns, they've only taken out one CEO.
