You are not supporting the devs, they get laid off generally as the game is released because who wants to pay for dead weight 🤡
For AAA games, right? I think independent developers are on their own and would be harmed by piracy.

Not that I know of -- I think many would be firing themselves and or a partner or two if that were the case. We should call them out and protect them since they've been bringing much needed innovation to the game industry.
