What's your experience with the new Teal Mask DLC?
Now that the Teal Mask DLC has released for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, how's your experience with the update?
I think my personal highlight are the new Pokémon designs and the overall vibe of the Kitakami region.
Also, I was pleasantly surprised that they fixed at least some very few performance problems (boxes, people walking), even though the game itself still runs very, very poorly.
Can't wait to hear what your experience is so far!
I'm enjoying it for the most part, but it really, really bugs me that they keep calling the creature in legend an ogre when it's clearly supposed to be an oni.
And I was begrudgingly accepting it, like fiiine, I know it's localization and dumb American kids might not know what an oni is, whatever.
And it's like pokemon actually wants to drive me insane! Because this "ogre" lives on top of Oni mountain!
Performance is much better than before. I'm having fun with the new additions and transferring some new op mons to destroy the opponents.
At one point, I hit a Pokemon with a super effective move from my Arceus and the cutscene went to "wow you know about type matchups" lol I'm like, I just brought out literally God and you are surprised by my type matchups lol
My biggest complaint is that, I wanted to start fresh with the dlc, but everything starts out at lvl 60ish. There's no catching a "starter" and evolving it. It's already leveled up.
Lag, lag, and more lag. It's honestly insane how much just about everything slows it down. Gamefreak needs to bring in some outside help for their next games. Because this performance is unacceptable in such a major release.
Was optimistic when I heard that some* performance issues where addressed. Unfortunately it seems that the rest of the game is still plagued with issues, with a few new bugs that somehow push the performance even lower in the right conditions. Overall disappointed.
Buying S/V + the DLC would run me $80, and I’d only really play through the main story. Maybe 60-70 hours of playtime at most, and thats with all the problems. For roughy the same price, I was able to buy the Spyro Trilogy, Sea of Thieves, Fire Watch, Stray, and Deep Rock Galactic on Steam. I’m already at 250+ combined hours on all those, with only minor issues from Steam Deck/Proton compatibility.
I really like pokemon, but it’s becoming harder to justify playing it over some of these other games.
There's nothing I could add to this. I'm only really playing it because I preordered the DLC in the hope they would address all the issues until then (which obviously they didn't). Once I'm through the main story, the games will go back to my shelf. After these games im pretty sure I won't buy the next game right away
