Focusing on QoL over AI would be a great idea for a while. Or at least used hard-coded automation or machine learning that functions on any device.
- This won't help sell a new device.

I don't know how long will I need to wait in order to see a new FOSS Android browser that isn't based on Chromium or Firefox and doesn't use Android system WebView

- You will wait a long time and still see no results. What's wrong with existing Chromium or Firefox?
  
  Chromium is controlled by Google, Firefox main point is add-ons (especially Ublock) but it has nothing else to offer unless you sync devices

Lack of innovation is really starting to show
- wonder why that's bad?
  
  It would be fine if the phones stayed the same and got cheaper over time. At the moment, price are getting inflated over gimmicks, and nice features like audio jack are getting removed
