Yup. There's no need to argue at all. Just stop the guy, give them the ticket and move on. If a guy is too angry to deal with, so be it. It's not like talking louder or dragging him out is going to fix whatever happened 5 seconds ago that made the cop stop the driver. Just stop being racist pieces of shit cops, that's all we ask for.
Related to this incident. You know what I do when I get pulled over? Shut my car off and roll the window down. If it's at night I'll also turn on the dome light.
This guy keeps his loud ass sports car running, has dark tint on the windows, and won't put his window down at all so the cops can see him, or what he's doing. He was being an asshole the entire stop.
62 second from the start of the video to when Hill is on the ground. All because he hurt the cops feelings, they got some real sensitive cops down in Florida lol.
His window was actually down. He rolled it back up after telling them to go write the ticket because he's going to be late. Definitely some entitlement but he was compliant in every other respect.
After reading this comment I've come to the conclusion he got what he deserved and it's okay for cops to abuse their power as long as they guy isn't acting civilized.
If I, as a teacher, responded to a less-than-compliant, and upset student by even lightly putting my hand on them I would be fired and charged that day. Police, if we are going to have them at all, need to be able to handle this kind of situation without resorting to violence. Period.
His window is up for 17 seconds before he opens it again. At no point did anyone ask him to turn his car off. 62 second from when the cops get off their motorcycles to start the stop to when Hill is on the ground.
I'm not going to defend Hill's actions as correct, but if someone is an asshole do the police get to do anything they want?
Hard to justify him getting pulled onto the ground, knelt on, and handcuffed.
If he didn't want to open the window (and I've already heard everything about how maybe they couldn't see inside so it was a safety hazard - fine) - doesn't opening the door solve the entire problem? The door was open. Shouldn't that have been all the escalation of this situation that was required?
Agreed! If you don't Bend Over Backwards and treat cops with the UTMOST RESPECT they have EVERY RIGHT to VIOLENTLY ASSAULT or even KILL YOU! EVEN if what they're asking you to do is Illegal or Deadly!
I'm at work and can't watch the video. Why'd they pull him out violently? Was there some struggle beforehand, or did the cop just decide to be an asshole?
and what was the outcome? Was he arrested? Let go?
The guy rolled up his window when the cops were talking to him. Any normal person would have spent the night in jail if they did the same, and then they would be paying to get their car out of impound, and then maybe their license would have been suspended too.
I'm not saying what they did is right, i'm saying cops in this country are assholes. That's what we expect them to be. That's what the policies ask them to be. That's what their bosses want. It's what the elected officials who set the laws and guidelines they must follow want. It's what most very old white people want.
We need real change, we just won't see it in our lifetime. We'd sooner see another dictator trying to conquer the world and committing genocidal acts than do anything to address the police problem here. Nowadays cops are just legalized bullies, just the way the ownership wants.
Hill was being a punk and rolled his window up on them. One of them roid raged out and yoinked him out of the car. I think they figured out who he was (probably thought he was a drug dealer based on him being black and the nice sports car) and gave him his traffic tickets and let him go.
He provided the paperwork they required from him and chose not to continue the conversation. When asked to step out of the car he complied and was thrown to the ground. He is not required to speak to them so why is he a punk?
Cops have an impossible job. Everyone has a gun, so it would be stupid of them to assume he wasn't armed, which is why they ask you to keep your window rolled down. All he had to do was keep his window rolled down for the traffic stop, which is not an unreasonable request, but it was one he deliberately disobeyed. Instead, he acted out, so they treated him like a delinquent. There are actual victims of police overreach that will never know publicity like this. People who did everything asked of them and still suffered. Tyreek acted like a petulant child "how dare they give ME a speeding ticket!?" so they treated him like one. This is a nothing burger.
I have no problem at all with rich pieces of shit getting treated like the scumbags they are.
