I thought there must be something better than a stick, like threads or something but a stick works so yeah, go go stick!

That's a genius idea! Put something fluttery like string or a kite tail on the end of the stick. Then you just have to get close enough to the prop to tangle it.

Plenty of super strong lightweight materials indeed. Maybe even a net gun type thing can be used.
