I will say, if enough people scab, the SAG's bargaining power weakens significantly, and if those scabs are barred from rejoining, they'll have less bargaining power in the future as well.
The comments under the article are so out of touch. SAG's announcement Makes perfect sense, why would a guild allow you in their ranks when you scab and cross their picket lines? They're reasonable to accommodate for already signed contracts, but making moves against SAG and expecting them to trust you'll hold their ranks in the future if they let you in...not how labor unions survive. Especially when shit hits the fan like in a strike
The only people who bother to comment on sites like Deadline I'd say are out of touch, specifically older people. Older people, who throughout their life, have been fed the narrative that unions are big leeches that only want your precious dues money and serve no purpose other than to hurt you, which they just eat up straight from their corporate boss' mouths
