One of my coworkers responded to my fear of Nuclear Armageddon with, to paraphrase "Yeah, last thing we need with Putin is him using Chernobyl!" and I was just at a loss for words. Literally people think the Russian are gonna ??? Turn Chernobyl back into a nuclear disaster??? a dirty bomb? Like it's not good to fight around there it's playing with fire, but holy shit that's like right in the middle of both Russia and Ukraine it would be literally suicidally useless to try and weaponize something along those lines.
Besides which, uh they have like thousands of nuclear weapons that are much more effective at not killing their own citizens in the blowback

My Grandpa thinks Taiwan will be taken. He kinda doesn't give a crap about Ukraine. He even said, it was a part of Russia for so long.

it has precedent. There was low intensity warfare along the DMZ during the Vietnam war because of American distraction.
