Just a test reply.
@squirrel@discuss.tchncs.de reading it from NodeBB 👏
do upvotes change anything in nodebb?
strange to see post with 0 upvotes.
edit: maybe some federation thing, because i'm from programming.dev?
@fuzzy_feeling@programming.dev yes, upvotes from Lemmy should carry across to NodeBB.
Seeing this from community.nodebb.org, though posts from forum.wedistribute.org are completely empty here:
@deadsuperhero@forum.wedistribute.org Can you see this?
@julian There seems the be something wrong between the federation of community.nodebb.org and forum.wedistribute.org.
EDIT: I should disclose that I manually fetched this thread and all the comments I saw on Lemmy via the search bar.
Hmm, my edit was not sent to forum.wedistribute.org either, but it was sent to Lemmy.
@altcode@community.nodebb.org Hmm, weird. Can see your reply and the screenshot, not totally sure why my response came up as empty on your end?
Ok, I can see this reply.

There seems to be something wrong when manually fetching posts via the search bar (I mentioned this in an edit on my first post, but that edit to not make it through either).
Also seeing this in Mbin.
@squirrel Let's see if a reply from Mastodon shows up
Edit: maybe I have to tag @Fediverse@forum.wedistribute.org
I can see it on Lemmy, but not on the forum.
@squirrel Based on my experience interacting with Lemmy from Mastodon, I need to tag communities when they're not on the same server as the person I'm replying to in order for it to federate. I don't seem to be able to tag the forum.
@squirrel@discuss.tchncs.de We can read you loud and clear!
Wohoo. It worked. I'm kind of impressed that we got participants from Piefed, Lemmy, Mbin, Hubzilla and nodeBB in this thread.
I can confirm that I'm able to see it from MBin!
Greetings, from elsewhere in the Fediverse.
It looks like https://forum.wedistribute.org/ isn't on the same NodeBB version as https://community.nodebb.org/ 'cos federation on there is broke in all sorts of exciting ways.
This message isn't a test of wedistribute's federation btw, as my instance will send this Note out twice - once to you direct, and once to the category (aka community) to send out to its followers, and the odds are that the direct version will get to you first.
This is something that NodeBB should also be doing, incidentally - both of us can send messages to this forum category without subscribing to it first, so Announcing content to followers isn't enough to ensure that everyone gets the relevant content.
I see it on Hubzilla.
Nice, thank you. Your comment made it to Lemmy and to the WeDistribute forum.
