Vermont poised to become first US state to charge big oil for climate damage | If passed, the groundbreaking measure could be a model for other states to hold fossil fuel companies liable
If this legislation is passed, what is stopping oil companies from just charging more at Vermont (or any other state that does this in the future) gas stations to offset costs?
EDIT: Why are you down voting? I'm generally asking.
Potentially, that's great, but I don't think people would notice if it was 10 to 20 cents difference per gallon and in that case the oil company still wins.
