I know this is about America but they were peddling the same shit here in Canada. People, and I believe officials too, were claiming that there was “Chinese interference” in our elections.
Chinese interference is when you have unaddressed domestic issues you'd rather ignore and the more you have the more interference they are doing.
They tried to say that the Toronto Mayor won because of China 😭 based only on racism
Same with the mayor of Vancouver, some city councillors, some MPs, etc. It was a full on racist witch-hunt that only seemed to simmer down once some spies from India shot a guy and broke the narrative.
