Lime(stone) Trans Megathread from April 14th, 2025 to April 20th, 2025

Limestone is a common type of sedimentary rock which I find uncommonly interesting! It's mostly calcium carbonate, which is also what eggshells πŸ₯š, seashells 🐚, and pearls πŸ¦ͺ are made out of.

In places where it rains a lot, limestone erodes easily, which results in simply gorgeous landscapes such as:

HαΊ‘ Long Bay in Vietnam

Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park in Madagascar

The Li River in China

Additionally, the world's longest (Mammoth) and deepest (Veryovkina Krubera is once again the world's deepest cave, thank you to SockOlm for pointing that out) cave systems are both found in limestone formations

Mammoth Cave in the United States

Veryovkina Cave in Georgia/Abkhazia/Russia (disputed territory)

  • So, where (physical or online) would you all recommend a clueless tomboymoding American trans woman get feminine clothes from?

    • I end up buying a lot of stuff off Amazon because it's sadly the only place I can source long and big enough clothes for talllll girls. Same with shoes.

Even offline, I scrounge a lot in thrift stores. Which for me ends up adding grandma style floral stuff, which is nice but not really my style. There are some plus size stores that also have tall girl sections (where I live it's like Torrid, Reitmans, etc) but it's hard time find stuff that fits proper for length and not so big around. Nordstroms used to have a really nice tall and big shoe selection, they're gone.

Every day I get closer to opening my trans femme clothing store: Dysphoria

    • thrift stores for sure. if you don't have any good ones near you try your nearest decent-sized city (preferably the bougie areas). despite being pretty picky (black and natural fabrics only) i've managed to replace my entire wardrobe with thrifted clothes. it takes time but it's affordable and kinda fun, plus at the end you look cute.

    • Same question, but in Ingerland
