Do dwarfs die? I thought that was a particularity of humans.
Dwarfs don't go to Valinor though.. Where do they go? Does Manwë Aulë have a Dwarf equivalent of Valinor somewhere? Is it underground? Is that the reason why Dwarfs are such avid miners?
Edit - changed Manwë to Aulë
Now THAT'S a great world building idea! They're digging to find heaven!
...and they found a balrog instead. Is that a metaphor for something?
The dwarves do die, but also have a longer lifespan than men - averaging about 250 years, with some even living past 300.
The dwarves believe when they die they go to their own area in the halls of Mandos, and that they will assist Aulë in the remaking of Arda Unmarred.
I was of the impression that they simply stop existing, while humans go to heaven or whatever.
