Typical cycle
- Look for a community about a topic that is not on LW (because being able to use a VPN is always nice)
- Community exists but mod is missing
- Post to community
- Community start's getting traction
- Open call to the community for mods
- No one jumps in
- Admins don't like unmoderated active communities, so they appoint me as mod
- Posts about offering mods positions, still nobody wants them
