Why do you think some people like specifically "mediocre white men"?

Nobody ever says this about mediocre white women, or any POC of any gender

Seems to me that these people want to date people of high social status/privilege in society - and due to mediocre white men's complete lack of any highly positive qualities - by virtue of being "mediocre" - can more easily be stripped back to only being viewed as white and a man as the sole standing "positive qualities", making them a more pure symbol of status/privilege

I've only heard it used in a derogatory context, but I could see someone flippantly saying it in the "I want to be way out of his league" sort of way while wanting him to still have the socioeconomic prospects afforded to, well, a mediocre white man
- Yeah I think this is the answer. 'White' and 'man' grants a default socioeconomic status, while 'mediocre' means they're less likely to cheat or otherwise cause trouble.
  You're just gonna have an easier, simpler time with a sitcom dad than with a hyper-ambitious hotty.
- Doesn't have to be this exact phrase. Mediocre white men, medium ugly, slightly ugly. All the same
