I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5g running OneUI: 5.1 and Android 13.
I have to keep secure files on my phone for work. So naturally I used the "Secure Folder" ap that comes with the phone. Problem is that while the folder is locked it constantly notifies me to unlock the folder for notifications from aps inside. I figured out how to disable those notifications but there is still this persistent notification every time I restart the phone.
Secure Folder Locked: Unlock your secure folder to get notifications from apps in secure folder.
This normally wouldnt be an issue. Every time I restart the phone I just unlock the folder and then re-secure it. But I just dont think it's very good to have the fact that I have a secure folder on my phone every time it is restarted.
So the question is... 1) Can this notification be turned off or removed? 2) Is there a different app that would work better for securing photos, pdf and text documents?
I contacted samsung support and they told me to deal with it or uninstall the secure folder app. Which isnt the best solution.
Sure, I understand you're facing issues with the Secure Folder app on your Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G. Here's some help:
Disabling the Secure Folder Notification:
Unfortunately, the persistent notification that shows up when your phone restarts is a built-in feature and as of now, there is no direct way to disable it. This notification is intended as a security measure to remind users to unlock their secured folders.
However, you might try disabling all notifications from the Secure Folder app:
Open your phone's settings.
Tap on "Apps."
Locate and select "Secure Folder" from the list.
Tap on "Notifications."
Turn off all notifications for the app.
Keep in mind that this will also turn off any other notifications from the Secure Folder, which may not be ideal depending on your needs.
Alternative Apps for Securing Files:
If the Secure Folder app isn't meeting your needs, there are many other apps available that can secure photos, PDFs, and text documents. Here are a few:
Folder Lock: This app lets you password-protect your files, and includes options for securing notes and even entire apps.
Keepsafe Photo Vault: Primarily designed for photos and videos, Keepsafe also allows you to secure other types of files.
File Hide Expert: A simple and easy-to-use app for hiding any file on your device.
Please ensure that any app you choose is from a trusted developer and has positive reviews. It's also important to consider whether the app offers encrypted storage, as this provides added security for your files.
