Why does the far right obsess over whether or not women have kids? It’s so creepy.
Need more workers/consumers, full stop. The main and most important reason. Doesn't matter if it's an authoritarian state like Russia or a "free" capitalist state like USA.
Need more bodies to produce and consume.

The lower class exists to keep the middle class in line so that the upper class can continue to make money. And the upper class, for now, requires human capital to do the work that makes them money.
Human capital thst’s educated enough to work the machines but not educated enough to know that they’re being exploited, and hence rebel.
In addition to other reasons, it keeps women "in their place". Barefoot and pregnant is a thing.
