Well i am certainly not using reddit on my tablet anymore.

Well, the official Lemmy App also requires Android 8+. Again, no support for my not so old phone...
4 6 ReplyIs there an official app for Lemmy? Jerboa is popular, but I don't think it's official. Connect for Lemmy supports Android 4.4+.
8 0 ReplyI was speaking about Jerboa.
1 1 ReplyDon't think that's official. It was just one of the only ones about when people started migrating.

Yes, but Lemmy block unofficial apps that may support your phone.
1 0 Replydid you look if there is lineageOS or another custom ROM, who is based on a newer android?
1 1 ReplyNot so old? Android 8 was released 5 years ago
4 4 ReplyMight be old in modern times, but I dont want to have to buy a new phone every 5 years. Especially if it is still working very well...
Also OP made the point that the official Reddit App requires Android 8+, so it's the same thing
5 3 ReplyAndroid 8 came out 6 years ago. And if your device is locked to Android 8 that means it probably shipped with 6 or 7 which means it's a 7 or 8 year old phone at this point. I have trouble believing a 6-8 year old android phone is still working very well.
1 2 ReplyYou are right, it is from 2017. Beside not being able to use Android 8+ I have no issues with it
2 0 ReplyNot to rag on you, but do consider security risks associated with using an unsupported OS. Take care.
