Why is this surprising or even controversial? Weight Watchers bought Sequence whose whole purpose was to fast track access to Wegovy. Seems a little ridiculous to point towards that as the reason for the stock falling. Most likely it was simply because she left the board.
It can be due to both, no need to expect the market is reacting in a appropriate and not overblown way.
