My wisdom:
- "The United States of America" is not a name but a description
- It's a bad description since there's multiple unions of states in america
43 3 ReplyTell that to Austria - Österreich. That means "Eastern realm", since there are no countries more to the East of anything than them. Or hell, Iceland. And Niger is named after the river Niger, which might come from ger-n-ger meaning "river of rivers", so that's another wonderfully unambiguous name.
I'm sure there are other great examples.

14 0 ReplyMeanwhile Czech name for Germans is "Němci", which means "Those who can't speak", as compared to Slavs (Slovani) which is "Those who can speak".

And then USA is still a thousand times better then US
