Your standing foot is your break, Your driving foot is your accelerator. And unless it's fixed gear you have a gear stick. You hill start just like a manual car. Set the gear, engage the accelerator, lift the break.

There a lot to be said for the comforts of a motorised couch. If they could move all their leisure activity to their car they'd have no care for how long any travel would take.
