5 0 ReplyWhat does that have to do with the Pixels? That's a Bluetooth beacon thing, and it's being added to all Androids through Play Services, including supporting Air Tags.
As far as hardware, it'll be interesting to see if they announce anything on October 4th.
2 1 ReplyAirTags use UWB for more precise finding, but uses Bluetooth as a way to increase minimum levels of compatibility
3 0 ReplyAirtags (and similar systems) use "Ultra Wideband" to do their thing, which requires different hardware.
There may be Bluetooth involved in some implementations but the star of the show, that facilitates the accuracy, is UWB.
