He never took the Russian side. He accurately predicted the West throwing Ukrainians into the meatgrinder to weaken Russia and then leaving Ukraine hanging.

No that is not justifiable because Zionists have no right to be present on Palestinian land.
The Russia argument is among others about the Ukrainian neo Nazis (which some folks somehow really do not want to acknowledge exist) attacking Russian speaking Ukrainians. Most famously Azov. And the whole NATO debacle.
This does not mean Russia has the right to annex Ukraine, but pro Russians use it as excuse to justify the invasion.

The difference is that Israelis have no basis to stand on. They are a settler colony of which every "historic fact" is faked. Their argument consists of :
- Straight up lying.
- Lying more
- Lying and calling it Hasbara
- Making the US president lie for them
- lying lying, and more lying.
Russia stans however do have real arguments to stand on. Despite me not agreeing that they give Russia the right to annex Ukraine.
