In a sensible world this would be the start of Europe fully turning away from America. Alas, we don't live in a sensible world, so...
- Transatlanticists will make sure oft it, unfortunately. Just as they stalled sensible preparations for this very predictable situation back in the day when that orange Muppet was elected into the White House for the first time.
- We can't do this outright and we can't do it quickly. There are US troops stationed here (for the time being anyway, apparently the new admin is having thoughts about this), there are massive economic dependencies, etc.
  
  There was plenty of time for preparations. The writing has been on the wall for more than 8 years. (when that orange Putin sockpuppet was elected US president for the first time)
  
  Hence the word "start". It'll take a lot of work, and it'll be unpleasant, but it's necessary because the alternative is to let America know that it can consider itself the ruler of us all. To say nothing of all the horrible shit that will come after
