Dammit. I have a split mail on my finger. Think I made it worse after snagging it on some clothing.
Got a spplit right on the side and about my probably 2 or 3mm long.
Put a Band-Aid on it for now so I donβt make it worse.
super glue also helps
Really? Is that safe?
I am looking for advice though. I was trying to look up nail glue but a bunch of them seem to have very poor reviews and also not really for split nails, I think theyβre for glue on nails.
They're all super glue. It'll work. If it continues to split you can get an acrylic manicure on that nail so it grows past the splitting point.
Oh ok well tried looking for super glue but I canβt find it so if I was starting fresh and had to buy something what should I get?
Cheap super glue from coles/woolies will do. It's about $3 for a twin pack. You'll only need a drop, so line up all the little repair jobs you can find before the tube dries out.
Oh ok. I might duck out quickly to grab some and see if I can do a quick repair job.
Do I need to worry about putting too much glue on or getting too much of it on my nail?
Try to use as little as possible, just a drop to start with and you can always add another later if you need. It's a pain in the bum to remove if you use too much.
Ok, thanks.
Might even have to use less than a drop I reckon.
Just need to bind it for a couple of weeks.
Else I could just keep putting bandaids over it for a couple of weeks.
You can also apply clear nail polish, stick a small torn patch of teabag paper or tissue to the wet polish over the split, and then once dry paint a few coats of polish over the top to seal it. (Drying fully in between.)
It might not be strong enough if the split is large but can provide some reinforcement while it grows out
I sort of donβt have those things. I have absolutely no nail products.
sorry
glue part of an teabag paper to it.
The split is vertical from top to bottom for context.
Itβs been trimmed back as far as it can go.
