There’s a video out now. It definitely exploded, but from my amateur digital forensics it looks like it was the result of a trunk full of fireworks instead of the car itself. I could be wrong.
Yeah, that tends to happen when Tesla's catch fire. The doors are electric and the manual releases are hidden under difficult to remove access panels in the floorboards. There have been multiple instances now where a Tesla caught fire and the passengers died before being able to escape the vehicle. There's a decent chance the vehicle caught fire trapping the driver inside who subsequently died when the fire set off the fireworks in the trunk.
