Its been attempted many times to incorporate the peasants, it always fails because because they are down right reactionary. They got their superstitions, they got their pitchforks, they got their loyalty to their masters.
Woody Guthrie was a right wing reactionary? The coal workers unions were right wing reactionaries? The IWW, which was at its peak, primarily made up of blue collar industrial workers in a variety of industries, were right reactionaries? I don’t think you have a very solid grasp on labor history, at least in the US.
IWW still exists, though it’s much weaker after the sabotage of trade unions by the state.
That doesn’t answer my question though, you claimed that they’re always downright reactionary, I provided evidences to the contrary. You can’t just wave away that evidence because Woody is dead. You ever wonder why the American labor movement had so many wins? Mass movements win change.
