Itโs vilification of group in society which you blame for problems you made
I think you should definitely let Umberto Eco know that his generally accepted definition of fascism is totally wrong. Of course, he did die in 2016, so that will be difficult.
On the other hand, unlike you, he actually lived in a fascist state and experienced fascism first-hand, so maybe he knew a thing or two about it.
Does that article change the fact that all of that happened while Trump was president? Because, and I donโt know if you know this, but you canโt change the past.
Consider that Donald Trump in his last term presided over the single most comprehensive impositions on the rights and liberties of all Americans, including shutting down on religious freedom and free enterprise itself, plus violating property rights of renters and even home owners to hold parties, not to mention exploding the budget in a way that broke all records. The controls wrecked education and plunged the population into deep ill-health and new levels of substance abuse, then poverty.
In this, he went beyond anything done by Wilson, FDR, or LBJ.
HERE IS THE TWIST
All his opponents only criticize him for not locking down sooner and staying locking down longer! Meanwhile, though he never talks about it, he worked to reverse his egregious errors from mid summer 2020 and after. But he had already lost power and was no longer in charge, and had become nothing but a pundit with social media that was taken down too with the urging of the bureaucracy now in control. It was the first coup of several that followed.
When the new government took over, it did not reverse the outrages but added to them. It imposed masks on the whole population and then conscripted the population to be biological subjects in an science experiment with a new form of vaccine that turned out to be useless at best, very often injurious, and deadly at worst.
So here we are: shocked at what Trump did but more than aware that all the viable alternatives hate him mostly because he was not totalitarian enough, while promising even more censorship and more control. Harris's own ads brag about the coming price controls on groceries and rents! And they call Trump the fascist.
I truly do not see how historians in 100 years will make sense of any of this
Sorry. You canโt change the past no matter what you paste. The things you donโt like happened while Trump was president. Lockdowns, masking, vaccine requirementsโฆ all happened under Trump. They even happened under Trump here in deep red Indiana.
I know youโre trying to gaslight history away, but youโre bad at it.
You know what is also interesting? That around 10 million of votes from 2020 just evaporated. Isn't it interesting? I staring to wonder, what was the covid pandemic really for? ๐ค
All that proves is that voter turnout was lower this election, and historically republicans have an advantage when that happens, and would you look at that a Republican won. Go figure.
