I don't know the song very well, is there something specific or is just about how depressing a night drinking in the 7-11 is?

Why hate song? Song good.
Art subjective. Some like, some hate. Song, long, lame, overplayed. False nostalgia does not make song good.
Why fake? Nostalgia real. Why use many word when few word do trick?
You're right, false was the wrong word. For me this song falls under "a tradition is anything that happened to a boomer twice."
