- Twitch banned Dr Disrespect after viewing messages sent to a minor, say former employeeswww.theverge.com Twitch banned Dr Disrespect after viewing messages sent to a minor, say former employees
The reason behind his ban has been a mystery.
EDIT: Dr Disrespect has made a full statement regarding the ban.
Twitch abruptly permabanned one of its biggest names (Guy Beahm a.k.a. Dr Disrespect) from their platform back in 2020 without explanation. Four years later, two former Twitch employees have now spoken up, alleging that he was banned for sexting with a minor through the Twitch Whispers app and attempting to meet up with her at TwitchCon.
This came two years after a settled lawsuit between Twitch and Beahm, where neither party admitted to any wrongdoing, and his contract was paid.

- Moar Borderlands
I know it's tragically pedestrian; and I know there's supposed to be a 4 in 2025; and I also know there's many a slip twixt cup and lip, and the gaming industry is going through some pretty radical changes... but all I really want is another Borderlands.
There's not much they can do with it, not many places to go, and I'm sure everyone who's worked on the series over the years is thoroughly sick of it. But, damn. Every one of the main games (at least; I haven't loved every in-between spin-off) has his a sweet spot of mindless fun, funniness, and replay-ability. I've played 3 so many times through, and spent so many hours just running around in every location, even I can't work up much enthusiasm to fire it up anymore.
There's an occasional game that fills the same niche; Bullet Storm was pretty fun, but with low replay-ability. I just want a game where I can turn off the higher brain functions and run around killing stuff in interesting ways.
Thanks for attending my Ted Talk.

Being the most favorable game market does not mean "there is no competition". It's just the competition is doing it wrong so everyone flocks to what they like or have stuck with.

> This might be too close to "advertising", so remove if you like. I get 0 money or anything. Just wanted to reach out to those who may not know this exists. > > If you happen to live in the Buffalo, NY area, the next Massive LAN event is coming up real soon and there are still plenty of seats available. Massive LAN is held in Winter and Summer, so you can always join another time. Basically, you get your own table, power strip, and an Ethernet drop. Just bring yourself, computer, chair, and whatever sleeping gear you may need. Family friendly (enough) to bring any kiddos who like to game as well. > > There is plenty of room to walk around and hang about in, so don't worry too much about being overwhelmed by a crowded space. If you do end up getting tickets and want to be grouped with other specific people, just put the same guild name as them on the form. > > https://www.massivelan.com/

- People Are Using TVs To Jailbreak Their PS4skotaku.com People Are Using TVs To Jailbreak Their PS4s
You'll need a specific and already jailbroken LG TV to pull off this new trick
Jailbreaking a PlayStation 4 might sound tricky. But actually, all you need nowadays is an LG Smart TV, a few minutes of your time, and the internet.
Why would you want to jailbreak a PlayStation 4 console in 2024? There are a few reasons. For one, it opens the console up, letting you freely back up game installs and saves. You can also run emulators on the PS4 and play your installed games without a disc. And yes, some people are pirating new games and playing them on these hacked consoles, too. But we are not here to talk about that. Instead, I want to share a strange way people are jailbreaking PS4s.
As reported by HackADay.com, a recently created method for jailbreaking a PS4 involves plugging it into a jailbroken LG smart TV. (And yes, in case you didn’t know about this already, people are jailbreaking smart televisions, too.) Once you’ve hacked your LG TV, you install a digital tool onto the TV and hook your PS4 up to it using an ethernet cable. Then run the exploit tool on the TV and set up a LAN connection on the PS4...and that’s it. At that point, the tool should work its magic and you’ll soon have a jailbroken PS4.
This new tool is built upon the work of other modders and hackers who were able to figure out new ways to jailbreak Sony’s last-gen console. And to be clear, I’m not suggesting you go buy an LG TV, jailbreak it, and then use that device to hack your PS4 and start downloading pirated games.
